Poems

I admit I was pretty lazy at school but when it came to writing poems there was nothing I enjoyed more than letting my imagination roam free. The task of conveying emotions succinctly and successfully was one that appealed to my creative instincts. Last year, after over a 30 year gap I started to write poems again. Here are my few attempts. They maybe amateurish but I hope you enjoy them. Please click on the opening line to take you to the full poem.

1. Farewell; A poem in support of Bloggers Unite for Poverty

Do you miss me Mummy
Down in your shallow grave.......

2.From a distance; A poem of unrequited love

From a distance I touched your mind
You enticed me, drew me in....

3.Human Rights; A poem in support of Bloggers Unite for Human Rights

I lost my sight
Because I had no rights

4. Christmas Socks; A poem of Christmas silliness

Christmas comes but once a year
Hurrah for that 'cos it's very dear

5. Bond, Damien Bond; a silly poem about my friend Damien set within the body of a post about my adventures at an Open Mike (Mic) Night.

Damien works for the Ministry of Defence
Sitting at a desk at the taxpayers's expense
